Comfort You Can Count On.

Systems You Can Trust.

Whether you are camping in the summer heat of the Great Smoky Mountains or wintering in the high country, your RV’s internal systems need to work flawlessly. At Rocky Valley RV, we specialize in the diagnosis, repair, and replacement of the complex appliances and plumbing systems that make your RV a home.

HVAC & Climate Control

Don't let a failing A/C or furnace cut your trip short. We service all major brands including Dometic, Coleman-Mach, and Furrion.

  • Air Conditioning Service: From basic coil cleaning and capacitor testing to full rooftop unit replacements. We ensure your system is pulling the correct amperage and blowing ice-cold air.

  • Furnace & Heating: Specialized repair for propane furnaces and electric heat strips. We perform safety inspections to ensure your heat source is venting properly and free of carbon monoxide risks.

  • Hydronic Heating: Expertise in premium systems like Aqua-Hot and Oasis.

The Industry Standard for Low-Profile Cooling The Coleman-Mach 8 stands out as one of the sleekest rooftop units ever engineered. At just 8 inches (20.3 cm) tall, it significantly reduces aerodynamic drag, which can help improve fuel mileage and provides extra peace of mind when navigating low-clearance areas.

RV Appliance & Kitchen Services

RV appliances are specialized, expensive, and critical to your "home away from home." We focus on "repair first," but provide professional installation when a replacement is necessary.

Refrigeration Specialists

Whether you have a traditional "gas/electric" unit or a modern residential model, we have the specialized tools to get it cold again.

  • Absorption Fridges (Propane/Electric): Troubleshooting cooling units, control boards, and heating elements for Dometic and Norcold. We specialize in diagnosing cooling failures and ammonia leaks.

  • 12V Compressor Fridges: Expert service for high-efficiency 12V models. We ensure your wiring and battery bank are providing the consistent voltage required for peak performance.

  • Residential Camper Refrigerators: Many modern 5th wheels and destination trailers now feature residential fridges. We service these units and, crucially, the inverters and transfer switches that keep them running while you’re on the move.

Cooking Appliances

Keep the kitchen safe and functional with our gas system expertise.

  • Range & Cooktop Repair: We repair igniters, thermocouples, and burners for Furrion, Greystone, and Suburban cooktops.

  • Safety First: Every propane appliance repair includes a Manometer pressure test to ensure there are no propane leaks at the appliance valves or fittings.

Water Heaters

No one likes a cold shower. We service every generation of RV water heating technology.

  • Traditional Tank Heaters: Maintenance and repair for Suburban and Atwood (Dometic) units, including anode rod replacement, tank flushing, and electric element repair.

  • Tankless & On-Demand Systems: Specialized service for modern Furrion, Girard, and Suburban systems. We handle scaling issues, flow sensor failures, and computer board diagnostics.

Plumbing & Fresh Water Systems

Leaky fittings and pump failures can cause devastating structural damage if left unchecked.

  • Leak Detection & Repair: We use pressure testing to find the "hidden" leaks behind cabinets and under floors before they cause rot.

  • Water Pump & Filtration: Upgrading quiet-drive pumps and installing whole-coach filtration systems for cleaner, better-tasting water.

  • Tank & Gate Valve Service: Repairing or replacing sticky black and grey water valves and addressing tank sensor inaccuracies.

  • Premium Plumbing Upgrades: We use durable brass fittings wherever possible to replace cheap plastic connectors, ensuring a longer-lasting, leak-free system.

Why Choose Us?

Unlike general handymen, we understand the specific nuances of RV systems—from 12V DC power requirements to propane safety standards.

  • Mobile Diagnosis: Many appliance issues can be solved right at your campsite. Our mobile units carry common boards, motors, and sensors to get you running fast.

  • OEM Parts: We prioritize genuine manufacturer parts to ensure your warranty remains intact and your repair lasts.

  • System Integration: We ensure your thermostat, control panel, and appliances are communicating correctly, especially in modern "Smart RV" multiplex systems.

  • Propane Safety & Manometer Testing: Unlike standard handymen, we perform a professional Manometer pressure test with every gas appliance repair. This allows us to detect microscopic leaks in your lines and valves that are invisible to the eye, ensuring your family’s safety before we sign off on the job.

We don't just swap parts; we find the root cause. Whether it's a blown fuse or a faulty control board, we get your comforts back online.

Common RV Service FAQ

Before you call for service, check these common "quick-fix" solutions for your RV systems.

My furnace blower runs, but there is no heat.

If the blower is blowing cold air, your furnace isn't "igniting."

  • The Fix: Check your propane levels and ensure your tank valves are fully open. If you have gas and it still won't ignite, it may be a faulty sail switch or igniter.

  • If the blower doesn't come on at all: Check your 12V fuse panel for a blown furnace fuse. If the fuse is good and it still won't run, Contact us to schedule a diagnostic.

I have no hot water, but the heater is "on."

If you can hear the heater working but the water is cold at the faucet, your bypass valves might be the culprit.

  • The Fix: Check your water heater's bypass valves (usually located behind the unit). If they are still in the "Winterized" position, the hot water is being blocked from entering your plumbing lines.

Why won't my RV refrigerator get cold?

RV fridges rely on a tight seal and consistent airflow to stay cool.

  • The Fix: Inspect your door seals (gaskets) for dirt, food debris, or tears. Ensure the door is closing fully and latching. Even a tiny gap allows heavy cold air to "pour" out, preventing the unit from reaching temperature.

My Air Conditioner isn't keeping up with the heat.

It is important to remember that RV A/C units are not as powerful as residential home systems.

  • The Fix: Start early. In the Tennessee heat, set your thermostat to your desired temperature early in the morning. If you wait until the RV is already 90°F inside, the unit will struggle to "catch up." Keeping your blinds closed and using an awning can also help the unit maintain comfort.
